We’ve had the day to reflect on our babies’ lives. This week has been a blur, numb, not real. We are so proud to have been the parents of Rainbow and Slapshot. We adopted brother and sister through DalmatianRescue SoFla Pati Dane, who is doing a live memorial at 7 p.m. est 02/02/2021.
We really are overwhelmed with the support and love sent to Rainbow and Slapshot as well as ourselves. I want to thank everyone who sent support and prayers are spoken and unspoken. We would have lost our solace without all of you. We would like to thank all our family and friends, the entire Dalmatian community, the team at Auburn Veterinarian Clinic, Faculty Advisors, Dr. Sinder for trying everything possible to save Slapshot, as well as Crawford Road Animal Hospital team and Dr. Sabo for helping with the initial intake.
I pray we can get justice for this callous execution of Rainbow and Slapshot. Our justice would be ensuring that this not acceptable should not be allowed to happen to another family.
Yesterday morning we learned of an unspeakable tragedy that has shaken our DRSF community to the core. Two of our beloved alum were shot in an inhumane and senseless act of violence. Sadly Rainbow did not survive and her brother Slapshot is in guarded condition after undergoing surgery. Our hearts ache for this family. We remain prayerful for Slapshot a full recovery. We also pray that whoever committed this heinous and heartless crime to be brought to swift justice. Will you please join us in prayer for Jose and Jill as they mourn their loss and send them words of encouragement for Slapshot. Fly with the angels Rainbow. You were loved beyond measure. ♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏🙏
