These happy pups are the Dals rescued from the breeding situation a couple months ago in Tennessee. Euan (top) and Chloe (right below) both have severe cases of heartworms and are in the second phase of treatment. Skye (third) has a heart condition and will be seeing the cardiologist Friday. She went into cardiac arrest during surgery for her spay on Monday which was a huge scare for us. Brooke (bottom) also has a heart condition and is going through a battery of tests before concluding the safety (or not) of administering anesthesia for her spay.
When our rescue makes a commitment to save a life, we always follow through, most often not knowing what lie ahead concerning medical, behavioral , and temperament challenges. These poor souls have happy faces in spite of their ailments, being far from healthy, and previous lack of care and neglect because now they are loved, properly cared for, and are receiving what they have always deserved. With that process comes a very high price tag which to date has depleted our medical budget. Our expenses so far for this endeavor have set us back well over $6,000 and we have more treatment, testing and diagnostics scheduled.
All that said and to keep our donors informed, we have set up another GoFundMe fundraiser (see link below).
The best way to help DRSF right now would be with a tax deductible donation toward the “Tennessee Dal Project”. If you would like to sponsor any one of the Dals we would be most grateful.
What we need funds for now is the following:
Skye’s cardio workup Friday along with current meds $735. Euan and Chloe’s heartworm treatment next week will average $1200 each and typical spay and neuter costs down the road once they are all healthy. If you would like more information please feel welcome to send us a pm or email us at fladalrescue@aol.com Thanks for your consideration and support!
